about Alexandre Dumas, père 2006-01-29 11:41:17

From my point of view, the Count of Monte Cristo is one of the greatest books ever written. I first read the abridged version as a 6th grader, and immediately went on to the unabridged version. While I usually dislike abridged versions of literature, I have been trying to get my 6th grade daughter to read this. It is really amazing.

about Jane Austen 2006-01-29 11:34:52

I am an avid Jane Austin fan and have read each one of her books many times. I concur that Pride & Prejudice is a great start. My favorites are that, Emma & Persuasion. I'm not as big a fan of Northanger Abbey or Sense & Sensibility. Have also read her letters.
