about Dorothy Dunnett 2007-08-09 00:29:30

You are in for such a treat if you haven't yet read Dorothy Dunnett. Spell-binding, lush, thoroughly detailed historical fiction. I would start with the Game of Kings and work your way through the first series in order. One book to avoid is King Hereafter. I love it but I've never met anyone else who does. I was researching a historical novel set in the same time period and so recognized the characters. I never got thoroughly engaged with the second series which begins with Niccolo Rising as I did with the first series.
