Steve Yarbrough was born in Indianola, Mississippi in 1956. He was an English major at the University of Mississippi, and he earned his MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Arkansas. His novel _Prisoners of War_ was a finalist for the 2005 PEN-Faulkner award.
He currently teaches Creative Writing at California State University in Fresno. Steve has a wife and two daughters.
