Categorization is odious. There is tremendous overlap among genres. These pigeonholes are offered only as a convenience.

I've read both "Lucky" and "The Lovely Bones." Both include rape as a topic ("Lucky" is the author's memoir about her own rape experience; "The Lovely Bones" does not center on rape, but does include it in the storyline). Despite this, the books are very different from one another. I liked both, but preferred the latter. I've known people to prefer the former, and those who enjoy both equally. So if you've read one & whether you liked it or not, I'd give the other a try as well.

Both of these books are wonderful. Read both. Be aware that while The Lovely Bones is fictional, Lucky is about Seabold's teenage rape and is a shocking and blunt book.
