From Wikipedia: Richard Russo (born July 15, 1949, in Johnstown, New York and raised in nearby Gloversville, New York) is an American novelist and winner of the Pulitzer Prize. He earned a bachelor's degree (1967), a master's in fine arts (1980), and a Ph.D. (1979) from the University of Arizona.
