Margaret Peterson Haddix spent her early years on a farm outside Washington Court House, Ohio. She graduated college from Miami University (of Ohio). Over the years she has had a few different jobs. She was a newspaper reporter in Indianapolis; and a community college instructor and freelance writer in Danville, Illinois. Ms. Haddix currently lives in Columbus, Ohio. She has two children, Meredith and Connor, and her husband, Doug is a newspaper editor.
