The Power Broker is an excellent piece of historical biography. Even if you are not initially interested in the life of Robert Moses, the writing and the manner in which Caro takes you into his world will make for great reading.

Robert A. Caro graduated from Princeton University, later became a Nieman Fellow at Harvard, and was for six years an award winning investigative reporter for Newsday. He was born in New York City, where he and his wife Ina, now live. The first and second volumes of his four volume biography of Lyndon Johnson won the National Book Critics Circle Award (adapted from biography on back flap of The Power Broker, hard- cover edition, reprinted 2001)
