I love all of Virginia Woolf's writing. It seems to have a unique rhythm that stimulates and soothes at the same time. Begin with Orlando for her startling virtuosic genius side or To the Lighthouse for a more even-textured masterpiece. Her short fiction could also be a good place to start. But read everything! I marked The Waves as a bad place to start simply because it is the most experimental and weird of her works, so it might be difficult to relate to at first, however, it may be one of her best novels.
